About Me:
Charles Ochieng is a self-motivated person with the desire to work in a multicultural environment that promotes the well-being of human race and community development. His desire was informed after being raised in the second biggest slums of Kenya called Korogocho, coming face to face with extreme poverty condition and him being a beneficiary of humanitarian efforts to get quality education. He brings the following attributes and skills to the day to day running of the organization.
Charles follows his schedule of work closely and executes his plan of action to needs that have arisen promptly. He is experienced in Psycho– social support for the orphans and vulnerable children in the program and persons living with HIV/AIDS, Data collection and preparing de-briefing notes to the research associate, Coordination, Community Development, Fundraising, Outreach, Public Speaking, Program development, Mentoring, Computer Proficiency, Nonprofits, Psychotherapy, NGOs Policy Analysis, Proposal Writing, Qualitative Research.
He holds a Certificate in counseling psychology from Amani Counseling Center and Diploma in Project Planning and management. He has previously worked with World Vision –Kenya in Sponsorship program and Heath care program being in charge of organizing actions that address youths and adolescent reproductive health, Children of strength International orphan care being responsible for Psycho –social support for orphans and vulnerable children and community training.
Charles has consulted and done many trainings to youths and community groups before together with three youths they co-founded The DISC Initiatives. He is married to one wife and they are blessed with 2 beautiful daughters.
